I bought this weber 200 a few months and enjoyed it until the regulator blew apart. I find this little pit does a wonderful job. I called weber and they will send me a replacement part. I find customer was very friendly and polite

Loved this grill. Cooked steaks wonderfully. Cleaned up beautifully. Fired right up with no problems. Had it a little less than a year and the valve in the regulator broke. We went to unscrew the gas and the metal valve and washer came out of the regulator which of course, caused propane to hiss all out. It was scary as I don't know what.
I miss my grill. It was a great, quick grill for steaks, chicken breast, burgers, seafood, and chops, but I don't know if I'd buy another one since this one broke in less than a year.
On a postive note, I did contact weber and because the grill is within it's warranty period, they have offered to send me a replacement regulator. I am still working on getting that. Once I get the replacement, I'll see how easy it is to replace the valve or whether it's just a lost. I can say while it worked, I loved this grill. I also have a big weber gas grill for indirect grilling and bigger food items and this baby grill cleans up and cooks better. I do recommend you buy it, but just be aware that the valve in the regular can separate (found another case of this on the internet) but weber seems to stand by their warranty.

I bought this Q200 based upon the longstanding excellent reputation of Weber. I must be the minority among Q200 owner/reviewers. I have yet to use mine for cooking because of two critical malfunctions. First, the regulator had to be replaced by Weber because frequently when the fuel tank was removed, it also took a part of the regulator with it - this resulted in the propane fuel tank spraying propane all over until I could pull the regulator part out with pliers. Second, the electronic ignition only works about 1 in 10 times; while there is a spark and smell of propane, the electroninc igniter rarely lights the stove, yet a match does almost immediately.
The folks at Weber's Customer Service Center have been great to deal with, but after having the grill for over a month, I have yet been able to use it. I have had Weber's for 40 years, including another portable Weber for 16 years that I gave to my daughter - it still works just fine. So you can imagine my disappointment to a pay the higher price for a Weber and then to have these problems. I am in no way saying that all Weber's are poorly made, and I hope that mine is the exception to the rule.

I purchased this grill for my new patio in San Francisco (the first I've had in 15 years here). Although I have a big space now and could have a full size grill, I wanted the smaller size as I don't cook for more than 4 people at a time. To my surprise, the "Q" could probably accommodate enough food for 6 people if I needed it to and it's compact enough to take to the lake or other camping area that allows cooking out.
It's shaped to allow cooking different shaped foods, like half chickens, cornish game hens, etc... It is clearly high quality construction and took a total of about 4 minutes to set up. I recommend you get one of the stands with wheels and the full length cover.
It uses those small disposable propane canisters available at Safeway for about $6.99 (San Francisco prices) or for much less at places like Home Depot ($3.99) You can purchase an adapter hose and use the full size propane tanks if you like. I haven't done that yet since I get up to 10-12 grilling sessions out of one of the small propane canisters.
The only down side to this model which would make me recommend the Q 220 would be that I would like a temperature gauge on the hood which the Q 200 doesn't have. That is probably not necessary for most folks though, it doesn't take very long to get to know the "Q" and it's cooking characteristics. This is an awesome grill - my friends that have the cheapo grills on their patios are already considering replacing theirs with a "Q" which is much nicer and looks great too.

Love grilling - can do it every day - even in lousy weather like we have in Wisconsin from time to time . Grill in the rain, cold, heat - don't care - it's a crazy habit - eating, that is! Anyway, I'm pretty much a charcoal fan ( have the Weber Perfomer and the Weber 'R2D2 model- the Weber standard 22 1/2" grill with a grill cover on - looks just like R2D2). But thought I'd like a gas grill for things like picnics and tailgate parties and for when I really want to move things along quicker due to time constraints. Read a ton of reviews and spent a lot of time to analyze this to death (spending a few bucks makes this come out in me ), the Q200 would be the one. I wasn't disappointed - how can you be ? Need to take into account the purpose of this grill - it's not really for the heavy duty grillouts - does a great jobs on chops, sammon, burgers and the like which to me is the real purpose of this - so don't expect the same results that you would on a Genesis or a Summit- it's an excellent grill for the money - but it also doesn't costs what one of those models will put you back. I probably use this 20-30% of the time as I'll always be a charcoal fan, but I really like having both in the gargage, after all, what serious griller doesn't have both types ?!!
With it's funky shape - it's also the talk of the tailgaters. Took it to a tailgate party last year to see the Brewers and people were stopping and asking about it - got into some lively discussions on the grill and probably even sold one or two for Weber ( Weber,,, I'd like my 10% cut !)
I've had other grills over the course of my many years, but I will never buy anything but a Weber - you just don't go wrong! Usually, I'm not that much of a company promoter- but with Weber, that's nothing like them. I've been preaching that to my son and he's on board and now is itching to get my R2D2 model as soon as he and his wife are into a place where they can have a grill. Next purchase - a rotisserie for the Performer. (but of course, from Weber). Just think - it's even built in the USA !
So - what are you waiting for ? Click and buy - it's that easy !

How do i make the perfect ground beef burgers for a outdoor BBQ?
Dom's Question:
I made some last week.
I added chopped onions and a little chopped garlic and some ground black pepper to the grounded beef.mixed it together then compacted it in to burger sized pates.
All was well I had the coals heated to the right temp.placed the 8 burgers on the grill and started to cook them.
Problem was only 4 of the burgers did cook properly the other 4 broke into pieces before fully cooked. they were all evenly placed over the heat
Where did I go wrong?
Thanks
It was ready ground beef bought from a butcher.
Not sure of the fat content.
chef_renee's Answer
You already made them perfectly, in my opinion.........but maybe you just tried to turn them before they were ready. I made over 60 burgers yesterday for our 4th of July staff party and 2 broke apart, just like yours did. I can only surmise that I was in a hurry to feed the line at the grill and turned them too early. My culinary background tells me that proteins will tell you when they are ready to be turned, when the fats release and create a sear/seal on the outside, then they can be turned, but if you rush this process, they will fall apart, no matter how well you seasoned them or created a perfect "patty press". So, try again and don't rush the process.............Also, different parts of the grill I worked on had different heat too, I could see some patties in the middle cooking quicker than the ones closer to the edges, that is also a major factor. Even if you put them all on at the same time, varying heat temperatures on your cooking surface will require different cooking times. So, I hope this information helps you out today and that we have many more parties to improve our grilling techniques!

Which grill is better. Charcoal or gas? I want a small one for my patio.?
question's Question:
this is my first time I am buying a grill and dont know what is good. If we use gas grill tan why cant we use oven in that case and how can it give smokey flavour like in coal grills. I need somethig small and compact and good at the same time. Also what are combination charcoal grills. pl help
Mom of 2 great boys's Answer
First off, if you use charcoal, be very careful on a patio! Charcoal can be unpredictable when lighting it and when grease falls on the flame. Charcoal definitely tastes better if you don't use too much lighter fluid.
I personally like our gas grill because it is much easier to use. Gas is very convenient and you have more control over the heat.
With a gas grill, you can buy "smoke chips" sold in bags, and what you do is, soak the chips about a hand full, for about 20 mins, place on aluminum foil, closing it making it a package, then poke holes on the top of the foil.
Place your foil pack on the grill and let it heat up till you start to hear it sizzle. Move it over so that you can place your food on the grill. Keep the foil on the grill while your cooking and the aroma is out of this world and your food will have a hint of the flavor given off the steamed chips!! :-)

i am going to make a turkey patty on my george forman grill. is that healthy?
spicysaucylatina's Question:
the patty is about the size of a makeup compact.
Kella G's Answer
Yes - much less fat than beef, so definitely healthier - don't overcook turkey, tho - it dies out very quickly (the down side of very lean meat)
