Review:
Bought "Grillfloss" about twpo months go. Have given it a good workout on Weber natural gas / stainless grated grill. Does a great job cleaning top and bottom of grates. Also find brass brush helps, as well. Combo does thorough job. Very pleased...innovative and functional.
Review:
I find it to be better than a brush, but less useful than a balled up piece of foil. Maybe my grill bars are too small, but I have to go over each bar several times to make sure that I get all sides. It's time consuming and a little hard on the hands.
I'm much happier rubbing the grill down with a big ol' ball of foil and then hitting it with the floss for the bottom side only.
I think that I'm going to try a grill stone instead.

I use this on my Weber grill; what a terrific tool! It's so simple and it makes cleaning your grill very easy. Requires changing of the "blade" every so often, but if you grill a lot, you NEED this tool, it will save you a lot of time.

Q&A
How did the term Barbecue come about?
Dopey's Question:
It's so common now I don't even think about it, but I just saw a bag of chips written as Bar-B-Q and thought it was weird. I guess you could write it that way, but it's usually BBQ or the whole word, barbecue. How did it come about? Other flavors make sense because they explain what they are, for example, sour cream. It's cream that's sour. Other cookouts make sense, too, like a pig roast. It's a pig, being roasted. So, what's up with barbecue?
Wile_E_Coyote's Answer
The word comes from the natives that Columbus and Spanish explorers encountered on Hispanola. They cooked meat over open fires and called it barbacoa.

Barbecue for a large group - when do you start grilling?
Patricia H's Question:
I have a barbecue that starts at 1 pm. There will be 60 or so people to feed. The bulk will arrive between 1:30 and 2:30 pm. When should I start grilling the burgers, franks, etc.? Should I grill as people arrive?
Should I pre-cook any of the burgers?
KLN's Answer
Don't start until your guests start arriving. They can mingle and help you out and then you will have fresh food.
