Review:

I used this grill for tailgating and camping for a few summers and have really enjoyed it. The legs are admittedly a bit tough to get out of the holes sometimes but it is a minor inconvenience. When grilling I always am sure to fill the bottom pan with water, it makes cleanup a breeze. I like that the grill top is removable, I use the burner with pans and my Camp Coffee Pot. When my husband and I bought our first house we even used it before we took delivery on our appliances and (bigger) gas grill. This is a nice starter grill, serious tailgaters will want more, but enjoyable for a couple of people and super portable for camping.

Review:

We are pretty pleased with this item. It cooks slightly unevenly but it is little and easy to take places. The ignition starter didn't work from the start so that has been kind of annoying. But other than that we are pretty happy with it.

Review:

We used this once and then threw it in the trash. What a waste of money. The flame is circular shaped so all of the food has "circle" burn marks across them, even though we had it on low. After we cooked the one time, the whole grill was warped. Don't buy!

Review:

This grill has been incredibly convenient. It's small, lightweight and works very well. I love that it can be used as a stove top or a grill. My husband and I camp often and this is the perfect solution for us. It's well worth $40 and any time we have people with us they are always commenting on how much they love the grill too. Not only would I recommend to take it camping but you can even use it for a day trip to the beach or something like that.

Review:

I would give it 5 starts but the electronic start mechanism clogs fairly easily which makes it difficult to start if using it more than once in a day. The easy work around is just lighting it with a match but it still doesn't function exactly perfectly after prolonged use.

Q&A

How can I use my small propane tank with my portable gas grill without killing myself?

James L's Question:
I bought a Thermos portable gas grill at Target last weekend, and with it a 1LB Propane tank. One problem, however. According to the instructions, I'm supposed to have the the regulator (or whatever the dial thing is called) such that looking down on it the dial is straight up and the connection for the tank is straight down. But when I plug my small propane tank into this and set it down, the grill is shorter than the tank, so my grill ends up on an incline with the tank lifting it 2 or 3 inches off the ground. I'm quite sure that the tank is securely attached to the grill, it doesn't look like those inches are supposed to go away if I connected it tighter or something. As a solution, I would just turn the tank at an angle, but the instructions seem to suggest that the tank should always be vertical. Are there different sizes of 16.4oz propane tanks? Is it not a big deal to just rotate the tank 45 degrees or so to allow my grill to sit flat? How can I make this work?

abfabmom1's Answer

My husband & I used to have a similar type of grill...we always used it with the propane tank set at a diagonal. It seemed to work just fine, and we never had any dangerous situations with it. Alternately, you could get a few bricks from your local lumber yard, and prop the whole grill up (without the tank), so that the tank can hang straight down.

Does anyone know where I can get a COMMERCIAL Taqueria portable grill?

luv2help's Question:
I went to this party. They had this guy there with this grill. He had two bowls/pots to cook the meat, and on the right of him, he had a flat grill to warm the tortillias. Does anyone know where I can get one of these grills to open for catering purposes?

Kathie's Answer

Try asking your local mexican stores that import if they can import one or do they have one in stock. I know a great place in Mexico where you can get them fairly cheap, but getting there is a pain.

I m looking to buy one of those portable (tabeltop) gas bbq outdoor grills.anyone have one?

blondie34's Question:
How does the food taste compare to the big bbq?

Sarah's Answer

We use ours for camping, too, and love it. Unless your style of outdoor bbqing is for hours and hours, using special briquettes or wood chips, etc. it will seem exactly the same. We've cooked everything from the usual burgers and chicken to soups or coffee, boiled water, etc. on it- works great.
